Full Spectrum Quantum Sensor

PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) – Full Spectrum

We offer the Apogee Full Spectrum Quantum Sensor for accurate measurement of PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation). It provides research-grade measurements under all light sources, including LEDs. The sensor housing features a fully potted, dome-shaped head, making the sensor completely weatherproof for self-cleaning. The improved spectral response increases the accuracy of LED measurements. HydraProbe (Stevens)

Soil Moisture & Soil Temperature

The Stevens HydraProbe is the most scientifically researched soil sensor available and is offered by PP Systems as an all-in-one in-situ sensor that can measure soil moisture and soil temperature. This rugged probe has completely sealed electronics making it fully immersible in water, and three strong, non-bending, and non-corrosive stainless steel tines.

For best results, the 3 prongs should be pushed into the ground until the sensor’s white body is flush with the soil surface.

Soil Respiration

SRC-2 Soil Respiration Chamber

Soil CO2 Efflux

The popular SRC-2 Soil Respiration Chamber is the industry standard for rapid, accurate survey measurement of soil CO2 efflux. The lightweight chamber is constructed of rugged PVC with a convenient handle for placement on the soil surface. A stainless steel ring provides a good seal on the soil surface or on collars.* A built-in temperature sensor measures air temperature near the soil surface a well as an internal fan to flush and mix the air.

*Optional collars are available from PP Systems.

Technical Specifications

  • Dimensions: 150 mm (Height) x 100 mm (Diameter)
  • Volume: 1171 ml
  • Area: 78 cm2
  • Cable Length: 1.5 meters
  • Weight: 0.9 kg

Temperature Sensor (Precision Thermistor)

  • Range: -5 °C to 50 °C
  • Accuracy: ± 0.5 °C at 25 °C
net canopy CO2 flux

CPY-5 Canopy Assimilation Chamber

Net Canopy CO2 Flux

Our CPY-5 Canopy Assimilation Chamber is available for measurement of net canopy CO2 flux on low-lying vegetation and fruit. Constructed of rugged polycarbonate, the interior of the transparent chamber includes a user-adjustable PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) sensor and an air temperature sensor near the soil surface. An air mixing fan and custom manifold system ensures uniform circulation within the chamber. An aluminum ring provides a good seal on the soil surface or on collars*. The Water Vapor Equilibrator comes standard.

*Optional collars are available from PP Systems.

Insect Respiration chamber

Insect Respiration Chamber

Insect Respiration

Our Insect Respiration Chamber can be used to measure CO2 respiration from small insects. Insects are easily introduced into the chamber by sliding off the black end caps on either end.

There are no electrical connections required. Literally plug and play, the white pneumatic connector snaps right into the PLC “Gas” port on the back of the CIRAS-3. The short gas tubing labeled “A” connects to one end of the chamber.

Sample Injection Kit

sample injection small volume sampling

Sample Injection Kit

Small Volume Sampling

PP Systems’ Sample Injection Kit includes a fully assembled and leak-tested injection port with five spare septa and an absorber column and stabilizing base to establish a zero baseline.

The injection port includes a 9 mm low-bleed septum that can withstand up to 50 injections (per the manufacturer’s specification) and a guide hole that will accommodate up to a 22-gauge syringe.

The lower, smaller diameter gas inlet fitting on the absorber column is designed to be used with 1/8” flexible gas tubing.

For best results, we recommend changing the septum every 25 injections.
